Arms and ammunition found in an abandoned car in Shan State

Arms and ammunitions were found in an abandoned car in Hsenwi, Shan state-north by the authorities of Myanmar last Monday, Xinhua news reported.

According to reports from the New Light of Myanmar, some of the confiscated arms were automatic rifles, pistols and grenade launchers.

The suspicious car was stopped for a check when it passed at a toll gate in Lashio by security forces. But instead of complying, the car did not stop and hurriedly rushed through the gate.

The car was found by the security forces left behind by the people riding in the car in front of Nasot village monastery with the arms and ammunition still intact.

Police officers are still conducting further investigation. They also found more arms and bullets outside the fence of the monastery, the report said.
