President Thein Sein disclosed that the military that run the country for many years will play a very important role in the government. During an interview with the Washington Post last Thursday he added that the army had made history for the country, according to news reported from Washington Post.

Moreover, President Thein Sein said that the allegations furnished by Human Rights Watch involving the Burmese military forces in a planned campaign of persecution against the Muslim minority were purely fabricated.

He further said that the army are more disciplined as compared to normal citizens of the country since they know and stand for the rules and regulations of the country.

The imposed economic sanctions are real problems affecting the populace. He said that the imposition of different sanctions was made for some reasons.

However, President Thein Sein said that he will not forcefully tackle the issue with President Obama.

Thein Sein, aged 68, was a former member of Than Shwe who headed the military junta. He then became the President of the country when elected by the people in 2011, the report said.
