Japan Post Co. to improve Myanmar postal services

With the help and assistance of the government of Japan and Japan Post Co., the postal system of Myanmar will be improved so as to give excellent service to the people, said news report from Kyodo.

Minister Myat Hein of Myanmar Communications and Information Technology and Minister Yoshitaka Shindo of Japanese Internal Affairs and Communications will validate the cooperation of both parties in a scheduled meeting this week.

The agreement states that Japan will help and support the introduction of automatic postal code reading and sorting machines that will facilitate easy access of deliveries of mails all over Myanmar.

Some of the factors affecting the postal services in some developing countries is that some commodities as well as various items are lost during delivery, the report said.
