RCSS/SSA invited to meet President Thein Sein in Naypyitaw

President Thein Sein will be holding talks with officers of the Restoration Council of Shan State/Shan State Army (RCSS/SSA) in Nay Pyi Taw. This was upon the invitation of the government of Myanmar under the Presidential Office Minister headed by Aung Min, said news report from Eleven Media.

The meeting is set next month. They are hoping that positive outcome will be established with this kind of meeting. Even if there were signed agreements on ceasefire between the government and the RCSS/SSA, conflict still occurs.

Just recently violence broke out in the area of SSA Brigade-701, about two miles from Namkham, Shan State (North) on May 9. It started from 4:30 in the morning and finished at about 3:00 pm, the report said.
