The government of South Korea plans to put up a friendship bridge crossing the Yangon River to link urban Yangon with Dala Township, the other bank of Yangon River, IAN's news reported.
Hyun Oh- Seok, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Strategy and Finance spearheaded the delegates of South Korea and discussed the matters to the Myanmar ministers in Nay Phi Taw.
South Korean company will establish industrial zone in Dala Township where land is abundant and manpower is sufficient enough to augment the needed workforce.
Practically, 50,000 workers from Dala Township cross the Yangon river everyday via ferry boats just to be able to go to Yangon city. There is no bridge connecting Yangon and Dala and this is the only way for the local people to reach their destination, said news report from IANS.
