Japanese MP Shinzo Abe to begin visiting Myanmar on Friday

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan is set to make his three-days official tour in Myanmar starting on Friday, said news report from Business Standard.

This will also mark the first time a Japanese Prime Minister will visit Myanmar in 36 years. The last visit was during the time of former Japanese Prime Minister Takeo Fukuda in 1977.

Talks on bilateral relations are expected to be tackled by the Prime Minister and President Thein Sein.

This trip of the Prime Minister will be joined by numerous Japanese business leaders who are keen on making business venture and trade in Japan. Economic cooperation is one of the highlights during their meeting.

Thein Sein made a historic visit to Japan in April of 2012 and this created new relations between the two countries, the report said.
