Nobel Peace Prize winner and democratic leader Aung San SuuKyi will make an official tour in Japan from April13 to April 19, AFP news reported.
This will mark her first visit to Japan in 30 years since she stayed at the famous Kyoto University from 1985 to 1986 as a visiting researcher from 1985-1986.
During her tour, one of the many expectations from SuuKyi is to visit Kyoto, to hold talks with high profile Japanese political leaders, including Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, to meet Myanmar nationals residing in Japan as well as to render speeches at universities.
Japan has continuously maintained assistance and trade ties with Myanmar even while it was ruled by the military junta as compared to many industrialized nations who stopped their bilateral ties. Tokyo has also urged the top leaders of the country to consider the voices of the opposition and the international community, the report said.
