Myanmar launches an official inquiry into mosque fire

An official investigation regarding the fire that hit the Muslim school is now being undertaken by Myanmar authorities. It was reported that young innocent male kids all 13 of them died in the blaze, AFP news reported.

A seven member commission was organized to look into the case of the young boys who perished in the mosque complex in Yangon and it is expected that the findings will be submitted on Friday.

The fire had caused panicked to some local Muslims thinking that they may be the next target after a communal unrest between Buddhist and Muslim occurred in central Myanmar the past weeks.

Authorities were quick to patch up the problem and insisted that the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring and the slow response of two teachers who were asleep when the fire broke out.

Myint Aye, head of local district police said that all evidence was already forwarded to the commission and they will continue to look into the case. The teacher who is already in their custody is being questioned about the incident. However the other teacher is no longer in sight and they are in search for him, the report said.
