Teenagers in Yangon who are fond of skating are looking for a place to work their skills in skate boarding. Like any skaters in the world they also have their tattoos on, wear ripped jeans and indie hairstyles, AFP news reported.
The only skate park in the city was demolished by the government without giving any details so the only way they can go on with skateboarding to create their own with a battered tyre, a chipped wooden ramp and a rail.
These sports buff who are in their early 20’s are hopeless to seek for an open space in order to polish their skills without interfering in the way for pedestrians and shop owners.
According to Ko Thit whose tattoos are seen from beneath a vest disclosed that they also yearn for a an international standard skate park in Yangon for all skate enthusiasts from all over the world to see.
Young as they are, with the use of social websites, they are updated with all kinds of skateboarding videos and skater fashion and the fact that they are encouraged to showcase their talents.
With the upliftment of sanctions, there is a good chance that skateboards will be imported and hope that they can get their own skateboard and paraphernalia thru online transactions from abroad, the report said.
These teenagers said that whatever is the result, their passion in skateboarding sport will never change. They also consider this sport as their way of expressing art and say that everything about skateboarding is beautiful, says Pi Oo Narzi.
